I feel for people who lose a child, but when the parent exploits that death to further a political ideology, my sympathy disappears. This may be considered by some to be insensitive, but Elliot Rodger used a knife and a car to kill, in addition to his firearm. When the media stops calling Rodger "the shooter", and the Anti-second amendment people stop focusing on the gun only, then I'll be open to more sensitivity.
When a girl in a short skirt gets raped, we don't blame it on her miniskirt. It's time to stop blaming guns every time some deranged maniac goes on a killing spree. Especially in these instances where as many or more people died from a vehicle and knife as from a gun.
You know what I can't understand. Some of the parents of the students who were shot didn't even get their children buried before they were out in front of the cameras calling for gun control and blaming the NRA. What kind of a parent doesn't even go through a grieving process before they're out in public pushing a political agenda?
